I've been union for 35 years ( IBEW) and I almost never get involved in these discussions . I do marvel at the level of ignorance and misinformation that I see though . People are too polarized on this issue to discuss it in a civil manner .

I have worked in Union/Non-Union Shops in chemical plants. Me personally. I preferred the non-union shops. I found the relationship more adversarial between management and hourly employees on union jobs. That still doesn't make management right in this case.
