Isaac apparently blew it down. On my drive back to Ponchatoula I saw one of the birds perched on a nearby tree probably confused.

Is that the one you see on the right as you are driving down the Bonne Carre Spillway bridge heading toward the Kenner exit? If so, that sucks as my wife and I notice it every time we drive into NO.

I noticed it missing Monday. Survived Katrina and Gustav, Isaac got it though. I saw the birds at the Alario Center applying for food stamps and I am pretty sure they are getting Road Home money from FEMA.

I was reading a little spot on La. Sportsman. Apparently I was wrong about Gustav. Seems Ike and Gustav both blew it down and both times they rebuilt within 6 weeks. I am not sure there is enough of that particular tree left, but keep your eyes peeled. They dont seem to give up easily.

I saw two large bird nests just north(closer to the clearing) of the original site about 100 or 200 yds on the other side of the railroad tracks, never noticed them before, could this be their new home?

I too, noticed that nest had disappeared. I had seen it repeatedly flying in and out of MSY. Hope to see it back soon.
