Have a Winchester 100 than I inherited. Want to get it cleaned up and have the recall work done to the firing pin, possibly get a trigger job done. Any suggestions?

Not a fan of Eduardo or Reynerson. Was going to stop by Hebert Guns since they're close by. In another thread someone mentioned a Lloyd something thats in Gonzales. Does anyone have contact info for him? What about Marksman Gunsmithing? Saw their number in the phone book but have never heard of them. Thanks in advance.

Bob at Rich's Gun & Coin in BR. If he can't do it, he'll point you in the RIGHT direction.

SS, does Rich's still stock reloading components?

I used to buy all my stuff from them when they were on Florida Blvd.

Got away from reloading for a while, and about to be getting back into it.

They were always good to deal with, and I wouldn't mind driving a little way to get my stuff from them again.

    Thanks in advance.

He still sells a limited amount of reloading stuff. Seems he's cuttin' back on general merchandise and concentrating on repairs and consignments. The place in BR is LA Gun and Reloading on Siegen. Larry has just about all you need as far as reloading goes.

    Thanks for the info.

Probably take a ride over there next weekend. (With my checkbook in hand.)

    One more quick question.

How about Waggenspack in Gonzalez? Do they have much in stock? How are they to deal with?

    Thanks again.

He's great to deal with. If he doesn't have it in stock, he'll order it for you. I don't reload so I don't know what he keeps on hand, but I know the man and work with one of his sons.

Frank's Custom Gun Works located in Denham Springs at the Money Matters Pawnshop/Payday loan store located on Florida Blvd.
He does great work and very reasonable. He also does FFL transfers.

LA Reloading for your reloading supplies and Cabelas in Gonzales has a lot of supplies.
Also, Basspro has reloading stuff but more limited.
I usually buy at LA Reloading to help support a local small business owner that is very convenient to me in Baton Rouge. Larry also does FFL transfers, He is located on Siegan Lane in the same shopping center where Jim's used to be.

I searched high and low for a gunsmith when i first came to the area, and after many "that guy" conversations i found who i feel is one of the finest in the Nation and hes right here in BR, Mr.Pete at Jims on Siegen ln, give him a call and tell him the 30-378 guy sent you. His prices are very fair for the quality of work youll get and he wont let you blow a bunch of money on getting things done you dont need.

I stopped in at Frank's yesterday while on my way to B.R.. Frank and son are both very nice folks and after speaking to Frank about some custom work, I would feel confident in his workmanship. 32 years of experience says a lot too.

Yes Frank does excellent work and does repair work for a lot of pawnshops.
He used to be District Manager for Big State Pawn before Cashamerica bought them out.
At one time he was customizing 98 mausers by rechambering them to 405 winchester just to see how they worked--not sure how far he got with the project.
