I was back in Louisiana for Christmas and gave this old (1980's) Beeman R7 to my dad. It had been tuned by a guy known as "John in PA" and he installed a Vortek spring kit and did a trigger job. The R7 is an accurate, easy cocking, highly regarded rifle. It's not made for power...more a target style gun at shorter distances.

Anyway, the spring guns are a little more difficult to shoot than the "air" powered guns due to the spring recoil moving the barrel before the pellet exits the barrel. It takes some getting used to...consistent hold...but once you get it the gun can shoot. I was very accurate offhand out to 40 yards. After 40 yards the accuracy dropped off.

    Enough talk...here's the photos.

The best part was teaching my daughter how to shoot.

That one had a trigger job too and it was very clean.
Don't they make the new R7's in China. I'm not positive but I think I heard that and the quality is not the same as the old German one...

R7 is made in Germany. All of the Beeman German models made by Weihrauch. Beeman takes the Weihrauch HW30S w/out sights and adds a premium stock and muzzle break.

The Beeman company also imports crappy chinese rifles and you'll find them at big box stores like Academy or Walmart.

Any good German Beeman starts off as a Weihrauch.
