Beretta Px4 Storm

Anyone has any experience with this gun? I'm planning on joining Jefferson Parish Sheriffs Office and I was told that thats the standard issued gun.

How do you like it? How does it shoot? Do you think its reliable? etc.

I have heard a lot of good about it, but have not heard much about it from people who have to rely on it daily. I talked to one cop about it and he said it was okay but he preferred his Beretta 92 that he carried daily for years.

I really don't have a clue, sorry...it's wicked looking though.

Its better of course, it has an external hammer and safety. It has a metal slide even. Its not a 1911, but you can't have everything...

so far that seems to be a problem in the .40 and .45. I'm going to get it in a 9mm.

Its been a while since I talked to my buddys on JP but that was the last word..

But anyway.. I have one and it is a very nice gun it shoots well and has never given me any problems..

It is also very accurate straight out the box.. I was very surprised with how well is fired..

I have 1 in 40 cal -its the lowest recoiling 40 cal I have ever shot - even less recoil than heavy, metal framed guns.

In 9mm, the rotating barrel doesn't do much - it feels like any other 9mm. But in 40 cal for some strange reason - it really works its magic on the recoil.

I've shot one in 9mm a few times - but after trying a 40 cal about 2 years ago - I always said I'd get a PX4 if I ever bought a 40.

I really don't even care for the 40 round. But, I got my PX4 in 40 cal for $399 new in Jan 08. Nice gun.
