Best method for sighting a lazer

I have Ruger LCP with a LazerMax trigger guard mount. I can see I shoot low and right with the lazer as compared to the gun sites. Is there a better way to zero the LazerMax in than just hand held shooting?

Yup....shoot from a rest or supported position.

And remember, it's an lcp....zero it about 9 feet
