I've visited a few gun shops around town, but none carry black powder. Where can I find it in the Greater New Orleans area? The HAZMAT shipping fees for black powder are absurd, so if I could I'd prefer to buy it locally, so it doesn't have to get shipped.

I believe there is a limit on the amount and individual or retailer can possess and this usually discourages retailers from stocking black powder. At least this is what I am told.

That is probably going to be your best place to buy from IF your needing a large quantity of it..

I have bought from Angelo, Good to deal with. State of Louisiana ONLY allows you to purchase and/or possess 5 lbs. of black powder!!!!!!!!!! Call Angelo as he'll be happy to talk with you. He supplies A LOT of cannon powder to Civil War reenactors.

Thanks AK Shooter for the black powder. That stuff is sitting on my workbench beckoning to me. If I can just find a 70 caliber bullet mold I'm off to the races!
