BREAK FREE CLP - NON Safariland...I noticed on some of the new cans of BREAKFREE CLP in red letters it says SAFARILAND who apparently bought the Break Free company out. The new formula smells totally different, and from what others says on AR15.com, seems to be a weaker blend. So now I am on a quest to find some 12oz cans of the pre SAFARILAND cans, anyone know of any local or at gun shops that post on this forum?

I want to buy some of this:

    Wow.

I was just coming here to post about this same topic when I saw your post.

From what I have observed, the NEW CLP certainly smells less strong than it used to, which isn't such a bad thing. Although the smell wasn't bad, it certainly was strong.

The NEW CLP also FOAMS alot more than the old formula did.

Better? I dunno. Haven't been using the new stuff long enough to tell any more differences.

Walmarts have the new stuff on shelves now, in fact its a few cents cheaper IIRC.

I was wondering why it was cheaper but I didnt pay much attention to the label ...............

I agree it doesnt clean worth a crap, break parts cleaner cleans better to be honest but its not "safe" for many plastic parts

LOL I bought a can forever ago and it had Safariland across the top. I can't even remember how long ago its been so long. Anyway this was my first can and my impression is that this stuff isn't that wonder product everyone says it is so maybe they did change something.

    It never was.

Decent lubricant (IF you remember to shake vigorously for at least a minute)

    Okay preservative. (See above)

    Worthless cleaner (shaken or not)

    .

Since I'm always looking to try better products, do you have any recommendations/favorites?
