Building AK47/74?

I have a couple of friends building AR but I always liked AK my ? is with the price of AK coming down is worth the time to build one. I want to build one to get a better understanding of what is going on.
Im not looking for a top of the line AK for my first one im talking about a WASR type build or buy.
I noticed people on here during my research who has offered to help build for people thinking about getting into also, bad side is most are across the state and near Lake Charles area?

Thats not that far but with the prices landersarms are offering I might skip building.

Buy an ak, the time for building cheap is long gone.

The best value out their right now is to buy a Saiga and convert it.

By looking at your name you know your AKs how do you feel about something like what he is selling for a first AK shooter not a collector gun.

That is a very good price on both rifles. However if this is your only 5.45x39 rifle, Instead of a tantal, I would look around for a Bulgarian. The tantal uses a proprietary handguard and muzzlebrake which can make changing the furniture at a later date dificult. That is unless you just want a Tantal, i have 2.
