$300, and will stop a .357 round. It's sad that it's come to this.

That backpack won't do a child any good when a gunman enters the room and it's hanging up on a wall or if it's stuffed in a locker...

Gotta be heavy and what's the chance of them having it on during the shooting and if they do what's the chance of them being shot in the book sack. I think my grade school English book would've stopped a few rounds.

I think they're assuming that the kids will be running away. That would protect most of the torso, but would do nothing for head shots.

These type of products have been around for a long time - not very new.

It's just a "mobile armor" product that's better disguised. The theory is that if you are crouched in a corner against the wall or something during a lockdown drill, you can hold it up and have at least a little help.

Silly, to me, because I doubt it's effectiveness, or usefulness.

I think it is sad that our kids must be subject to our over protectiveness. Remember a few years back how bad it was for children to have this big old heavy backpacks?
Now we are throwing more weight on them, hell I wear a vest daily and it pissed me off because it weight so damn much. A generation of crippled teenagers is next. What child is going to do practice drills with their backpack too. A tool you aren't trained to use is useless. What are you going to do in a few years when the materials have degraded, just buy another 300 backpack for your kid.

A backpack full of books would prob stop alot of rounds without it being bulletproof. Regardless...like was previously stated...better chance of being hit my lightning.
