I'll give you the story how it was told to me.
My brother's co-worker brought this in to the shop one day to show off. His dad was helping renovate a park, I don't know where but close to Lafayette, when he found this buried around two feet in the ground. It was coated in wax and found with a handful of rounds also coated in wax.
With a little(very little) research, we found that it was a Connecticut Arms derringer (AKA, Hammond Bull-Dog), 44RF. It's a neat little gun and I wish that I could get my hands on it just to handle it.

The guy's dad fired one shot through it after cleaning it a little, and it shoots just fine. I can't help but think that the last time it was fired prior to that, someone died. I just thought that I would share this little treasure with ya'll.
