buying a handgun in MS

my dad wants to buy my mom a handgun for christmas. the local shops dont really carry a wide selection, so he was going to pick on up at the gun show some time in MS. the question is he is a resident of LA but they just bought a house in MS so would he be able to purchase a handgun at the show? thanks

What does his drivers license say? If it's an LA drivers licesnse, he can't. Just order from Buds and have it shipped to a local FFL. Try to use one who supports this website.
