    Here's my WWII collection:

    Top to bottom:

Springfield Armory M1, made in June 1943

Savage No4, MK I. Has all Savage marks and no British proofs, so I'm guessing the war ended before it could ship.

MAS Mle 1936, part of the first batch made after France was liberated.

    Mauser K98k, Oberndorf, 1941

    Mosin Nagant 91/30, Tula, 1933

Nice bunch of Garands. Which manufacturers do you have represented there?

Collectors are still trying to piece together a sensible scenario which could logically explain why the six known serial numbers are among serial number sequences we know were made by one of the OTHER two makers. It's a mystery none of us have come up with an accepted theory for.

Another point adding to the mystery, all six known Columbia-marked guns have their company name HAND ENGRAVED on them, rather than roll-stamped like the others. Almost as if the ownership somehow KNEW they would not be producing enough guns to make an expensive stamp worthwhile.

Erm, I think there's a pretty obvious scenario to explain these mysteries. I know absolutely nothing about the guns, and perhaps other than a manufacturer mark, there are other ways of determining who made them. That would make this theory completely wrong.

That said... They're hand engraved and inappropriate serial numbers because... they're faked, and there are no "survivors" of whatever disaster befell the other 8994 firearms.

That's just 1+1 = 2, so I'm sure there's got to be another reason why that theory isn't considered? I'd be interested to know more details. Cool looking things, though!

Just bought a Norinco SKS that appears to have never had a round in it. Only drawback is a pinned barrel vs screw-in. Came with East German Sling. No cleaning kit. Other than that brand new.

    Is that the semiautomatic revolver?

Yep, they called it an automatic revolver. When you fire the top half of the frame recoils, cocks the hammer, and indexes the cyllinder for the next shot. If you only want to shoot one round you place the cartridge in the top cylinder hole, not off to the side, as the cylinder rotates after the shot.

I am amassing a good collection of Mosins and I also have a Nagant revolver and a Yugo SKS, I just got done cleaning the comso off this 1928 Dragoon-Era Hex receiver Mosin M91/30. I ordered it from Classic Arms and it came in and once it was de-gunked it is a nice rifle.
