Hey guys. I am planning a trip to go camping end of May. I am thinking lake ouachita. Any tips on fishing the lake and what camp sites are best? Going to do tent camping and possibly bring a canoe or small boat.

My family has gone to lake Ouachita every July since before I was born. We used to camp at Brady mountain but have been going to Mountain Home for several years. The fishing there is almost always better than good. The campgrounds and facilities are top notch, they have boat and jetski rentals, a huge marina, even a spa for the misses.

This is the page for the resort on the mountain. I don't think the campground has a page, though

Anyone else got any suggestions? I have looked at the above and it seems more of a lodge/hotel. I'm more looking for just camp sites along the lake.

It's a few more hours up the road, and I am somewhat reluctant to share one of my favorite places......

But here's a second vote for the white river/mountain home

Cabin rental includes a boat. Motor is not included :D
Guided fishing trips are cheap. Do that the first day, learn the basics of river trout fishing, then strike out on your own for the rest of the trip.
