Hi, I'm a Hawaii resident (originally from LA) and have a 22 rifle that I kept here in Louisiana. (The gun was originally registered in Hawaii.)

I'm visiting family here in LA and I'd like to sell the gun while I'm in town.

Since I'm a Hawaii resident, do I need to go through a FFL to sell the gun to a LA resident?

    Thanks much,
    Dave

Yes. Folks with much broader knowledge regarding the actual law will no doubt chime in, but IIRC only state residents can sell to one another without an FFL doing the transfer.
