Alex buying a Swedish Mauser recently made me think of mine and how much I like the round out of all I shoot

See if you can identify the 6.5x55 swede
    Hint....it's the sleek one ;)

Also, all but 2 of these rounds have seen action in War,
    Hint...from the late 1800s on
Can you identify the ones that don't belong with their "veteran" brothers?

3rd and 4th from the left?

Thanks for playing Name that round Tim but
both of those rounds have seen "the Elephant"

The 3rd from the left seeing action against the fanitical Moros in the Phillpines and also it rode up Kettle hill to "civilize" the Cubans

The 4th, saw action against the "Bear" in the winter of 1939

    Alright, who's next?

    "Hint...from the 1800s on"

As opposed to the wide array of 1700's centerfires??

LouisianaCarry, there may not be people as "well read" as yourself
so a hint was given as to a time frame
(actually it should read late 1800s)

    You are correct sir!

    That's a 6.5x55 139gr round for a swedish Mauser

The 6.5 long skinny bullets have a higher than averge Ballistic Coefficient that maintains long range speed, Excellent sectional density for superior penetration and accuracy far better than some larger faster bullets do at 500+ yards

Now, who can identify the rounds that have not gone to war?

Hint, one was gramps fav and the other a military wildcat
