Carrying concealed in New Orleans

Is CCW allowed in the Aqaurium of the Americas? I know it is not allowed at the Insectarium.

The insectarium is part of a federal building.

As far as I know, CCW is allowed at the AOA unless something has changed in the past few years.

I was at the Aquarium last fall and had no problems. Didn't really look for a sign, but I didn't notice one. I sure as hell would hate to be disarmed if the shark tank somehow sprung a big leak, too

+1 to never having an issue at zoo or AOA.

and after growing up at the beach I'll say that I'm more concerned with the sharks in the parking lot lol

No guns allowed in the dome. I've never had a problem on burbon carrying or not - lots of police there. Cops here aren't any different than anywhere else, just be legal and not an ******* and you'll be fine. I think they are used to dealing with drunk assholes regularly so it might take them a second to realize your not one.

I always carry concealed in NOLA. I am careful not to go in bars that don't serve food. I have carried may times while walking around the Quarter. Never in the Dome, though. If this is not legal, it is worth the risk to me.

I thought it was a class A establishment that you could not carry in and there are a lot of them that serve food. I work in the French Quarter and as long as your not drunk acting like a complete idiot chances are the cops will bother you concealed means concealed. They have enough to deal with between the thugs , roaches and fools that think being in the French Quarter is a reason to do anything.
