I was talking to an officer about CCL and what is required when approched. As we all should know, if CCW you must inform the officer if armed. His thuoghts were if the CCL holder did not inform, he would have the right to take the firearm.

I thought the only way that an officer had the right to do so was if you were under arrest ?

Why not just comply with the rules and have no issues?

How about reading the rules that apply to conceal carry in Louisiana, it's very clear on what the possible charge could/would be for failure to inform.

Temporary posesion of the firearm is mentioned under alcohol

The answer is no they can't take your gun unless you are charged with something. They can temporarily relieve you of said gun until the interaction is over.

Failing to inform is not a charge but an administrative paper that can make you lose your CHL.

The next person that says they will shoot a cop in the name of the constitution earns a ban.

I'm saying that I have the right to resist illegal arrest with deadly force.

What you believe to be an illegal arrest and what is an illegal arrest may be two different things.

And you determine what is legal? You should have a great Criminal Attorney on retainer.I
