CHP Application question #6: Pistol, Revolver, or Both?

When taking the CHP course, is there any advantage to qualifying with both pistol AND revolver? Just curious.

The NRA pistol course which is what LA CHP instructors use covers both.

The question was placed for statistical purposes only and is irrelevant to your permit. btw, not all instructors use the NRA basic pistol course. There are guidelines that you can create your own course with and have it approved by the LSP.

I was trained and marked "both". It doesn't matter for now but if the laws were ever to change it may be beneficial to have "both" on your application.
