Co witness question for an AR setup for home defense.

If I install an Eotech 512 on my AR upper how much interference will there be with the front sight? My rear sight fold down. Will the red dot line up with the front sight top and not be an issue or get another upper with a gas block?

You won't really notice it. I have mine with a lower 1/3 cowitness just because I like it better, but in reality it's not an issue.

Like TG said it wont be an issue, mine is actually DEAD on it and I hardly even notice the front sigth post unless the dot is off
