    could be a few things,
your hdd failed and your pc doesnt know what to do,
your boot file telling your pc what to do has been corrupted.
something has changed your boot order process..

    Great link up there....

IF you get it running again....first thing I'd do is run a scan of the harddrive disk surface...

I'll bet you a beer you're gonna have bad sectors on your HDD....so...

Immediately back up everything that's important to you and plan to install a new HDD in your puter...it's a perfect chance to upgrade your storage. You can remove and install a new hdd with a screwdriver and about 5 mins of your time. Make sure you have the OEM disks...

I backed up everything already and put the factory restore disk in. It said it was going to format my hard drive and reinstall from the disk. After it wiped everything and went to copying the file that's when everything went to hell.

Thanks for the link spanky. Once I get to another pc I'm gonna give that a try right now I have to rely on my phone and DSI for internet.

Spanky now its asking for a vista serial number and i have no way to get one. Now what? :wtc:

Flip laptop over. Printed on the shiny security sticker called Windows on the bottom somewhere. If it's not there, contact the manufacturer and tell them it's missing.

if it's not stuck to the bottom of the puter.....it's somewhere in the various documents and manuals you received when you purchased it. Most likely, it's usually on the envelope that your OEM restore disk came in...

    wow.....I'm speechless.

I'll never have anything other than a Toshiba. Best laptops I've ever owned, and I've been through a lot of 'em.

You got ripped....one of those 11 year old kids in the sweat shop was being beaten so he didn't notice that yours was shipped without all the parts. That sucks.

Have you tried calling Toshiba?? How long ago did you purchase it?
