So far, I'm going on my fourth month and counting.

Submitted CHP application on a Monday, fingerprints at LSP on Tuesday, approved on Wednesday. Received permit in the mail the next Tuesday. 8 days from submitting app to having permit in hand.

I did did everything electronic. No paper whatsoever involved. I guess that's why it was so fast. Or maybe I'm just lucky...
