I have a CZ 457 Varmint that I have not regretted one bit.
I have the 457. It’s on the top of my list out performs my kimber government and my christin arms by far.I have a Ruger American Target 22lr with a Leopold rimfire scope that I was offered to trade for a Single 10 that I have been wanting, but if I trade i want another bolt action 22 rifle and the only one I can find to my liking is a CZ 457 I would have to add a scope so I am looking at $800 or so but I would have a revolver also. Then again I can keep the Ruger and get a 9 shot Heritage for alot cheaper than the CZ. What would you do ?
Own a Ruger American Predator in 204 Ruger and CZ -457 Varmints in 204 Ruger & 223. The first Ruger American Predator in 204 Ruger was all over the place and sent it back. Factory concurred and sent me a new one. Granted, these are all centerfire but just passing along my personal experience. CZ has a rock solid reputation.I have a Ruger American Target 22lr with a Leopold rimfire scope that I was offered to trade for a Single 10 that I have been wanting, but if I trade i want another bolt action 22 rifle and the only one I can find to my liking is a CZ 457 I would have to add a scope so I am looking at $800 or so but I would have a revolver also. Thanks for mentioning the 77/22. Got an older one, well over 25yrs old. Got a cheap 4x Bushnell on it--mounted that years ago a trial. Shoots so well, never took it off. Sh!tload of fun at 50yds. Yes, a magnificent firearm. You'd have to pry it from my cold, dead hands. (Grandson loves it too)No experience with the Ruger American, but my Ruger 77/22 is a magnificent firearm.
