I am actually currently considering picking a CZ to shoot production with, searched last night on GunBroker and they have some sweet looking guns and the reviews are very impresive, I want something good, reliable and DIFERENT. I am a firm believer on XD's but want to add another name to my safe, Love the look of the high rise beavertail on them which a lot of the "newer" pistols lack.

I have the Tanfoglio 10mm, 15 rd version, blued/black version. They look very similar and I'm told they share some roots or design history with the CZ. The frame over slide thing takes a little getting used to but it's built like a small tank. The D/A trigger on mine is kind of ratchety, but I only paid $365 for it on GB so I don't complain. The S/A is pretty good.

In that price range, I'd look at the Walther P99, although that gun doesn't have a very good rep in South Louisiana, which leans toward Glock. But they sure like it on the Walther forum.

Nice pistol!! I got mine last October for $659. You can look at the Sports South website and see the availability and get your local dealer to give you a price.

I too have a Tanfoglio version. The TA-90. Parts will interchange with the CZ perfectly. Mine is an un-limited version with compensator and DOT sight. I bought it at the Darmstadt Rod and Gun club in Germany for IPSC matches. It "brought home the bacon" on many occasions. Even with British Stench gun ammo (very hard primers and loaded "HOT") it functioned flawlessly. I attribute this to the CZ-75 design.

wallstdevil, Tell your brother to go for it. He'll be happy.

Tell him to go for it! I have an Armalite AR-24 which is based also on the cz75 and it out the box has got to be one of the most accurate pistols I have ever owned. That one and my Walther P99 are my absolute favorites. I like the weight of it and ergonomics. I didn't know if I would like it as I have had my P99 for a while now but have decided it is definitely a keeper and might get me back into metal frame guns again. Very popular gun worldwide and parts are plentiful.
