A little off topic, but anyone who loves beer should be excited. A new bar is opening up in BR with over 140 beers on tap and over 150 in bottles. The Pelican House will have over 200 whiskeys as well, and the most knowledgeable bar staff in Baton Rouge.

Shameless plug for my friends - I am l curating the wine list and helping with the food menu.

I tried some Guinness served at room temperature in Africa in 1963 and it was the nastiest drink I had ever tasted.

Yuengling Black and Tan from the TAP is the best draft I've ever had...and I like all kinds of different beers..Ziegenbock out of the tap is always my favorite if available. Problem with the Black and Tan from Yuengling is it is hard to find, even in states that sell the stuff. Its not the same out of the bottle. If any of you beer lovers happens to go to an establishment that serves the BandT on tap, try it!!
Guinness?? yeah, by itself is pretty tough for me but got to admit, I do like a real Black and Tan if I can find a place with the right stuff to make it correctly.

I'm not much for Guiness. Köstritzer Schwarzbier is my favorite.

It will actually be in the citiplace shopping center in what used to be the Macaroni Grill. It has had a complete overhaul. It's gonna be an amazing place. Biggest courtyard in BR as well.

^^^^This. I never liked the stuff until I had it in Ireland. If someone serves you a Guinness and it takes them less than 5 minutes to bring it, they did it wrong. The only local place I have found that is very close is The Irish House on St. Charles Ave.

Don't know about Guinness in Africa, but I don't mind a warm Guinness. I actually prefer it a little warmer than I do something like a Coors which should be ice cold.

Most of the pubs in Ireland will pour the first half and have pints waiting on the bar when it's busy... a Guinness assembly line if you will. They really have their stuff together over there.
