So a couple of barges hit the Old Bridge in BR a while ago. They're contained now supposedly- but I'm thinking it was kind of a good thing they didn't strike the f-ing levee-!
Can't post a link to anything right now. But Hwy 190 is still closed in both directions while they check it out for damage.

    What next???

    EDIT: Here's a link...

shouldn't we call that the OLD old bridge now? Technically the "New" bridge isn't the "New" bridge since the Audubon Bridge is open...so....jusy sayin.

Nah. That's the JJA Bridge, bruh. In BR, I'm afraid the HP Long Bridge will forever be "The Old Bidge". :D

How about the real names? Huey P. and Wilkinson....

Hell- they've been called old & new for so long now, I doubt that will ever change. Even the traffic reporters usually say old & new.

When most people hear "Huey P. Long Bridge", they automatically think of the one in NOLA. But there's still lot of old bridges that bear his name across the state- and in some cases his along with Gov. O.K. Allen....
