Went to the gun and knife show at the Lamar Dixon. I found a Double Star AR that felt nice. I'm not familiar with them. Any insight, opinions on them?

I had a Doublestar AR. It was well made. The finish was top notch, and it shot great with no problems what so ever. Granted, I probably only put 1000 rounds in it or so. But it ate everything including steel cased Russian stuff. Mine came with a chrome moly barrel (not chrome lined), semi bolt carrier group, standard ar feed ramps, straight pins in the front sight base, and commercial buffer tube. If you are into the mil-spec stuff, this rifle is not for you. Otherwise, the Doublestar was a great, quality-made rifle. Accuracy with 55 grain fmj was decent for me--within 1 inch at 50 yards with AE223. The trigger is standard AR15 trigger group, single stage with a crisp break. However, the trigger pull felt lighter than a Daniel Defense to put it in perspective. Hope this info helps. I wouldn't hesitate to pick another one up if the price was right. I don't think any of the non-milspec stuff detracts from what the rifle was--a good, reliable, accurate firearm. And yes, I would trust my life to it:)
