I'm looking for a Soligor 500mm-800mm FD to EF adaptor to mount the lens on a Canon body.

Anyone know where to look? I've tried Amazon, B&H, etc... Was trying to avoid eBay.

    Thanks for any help.

Ohh. Actually want to try pics of the super moon this weekend. My EF 300mm is good, just wanted to try the old 800mm.

    So Astrophotography.

    Gotcha. I usually throw a 2x on a 400mm or 500mm for moon shots.

Throw the aperture up and boom. Success.

You know, back in the day......
1 stop over your iso @ f16 . In other words, if you're using 400 iso, you set shutter at 500 and aperture ay f16.
That rule may only apply to film, though.

    Yeah. That's a film thing.

I grabbed this one a few weeks ago. I don't remember the settings, I'll have to pull up a hard drive and check.

Was a bit cloudy around 2-3am, did some test shots of setup. Manual focus is a b1tch ;), spoiled by EF.

There are fd to ef adapter rings, with focus confirmation. Another option would be to purchase a canon 2x extender. It doubles the reach of your lens, and you maintain autofocus.
    Great celestial shots

Someone once told me the sunny 16 would work with moon shots. I don't know what I shoot them at because my setup is not that steady. Old Canon 1D, Canon 2x, Tokina 300 2.8 and I use the delay release. usually wide open. Moon is moving really fast when trying to keep it in the veiwfinder.
