And sadly, its only gonna get worse, much worse to come. Here is the prevailing attitude in New Orleans from nola.com this very morning. "Need to stop incarcerating so many people". Change the laws, stop arresting, prosecuting, and incarcerating people for non-violent crime. Don't change their behavior, don't make them accountable, just stop arresting them for breaking our laws. Same strategy our former president Obama advocated. You can best believe the new mayor of BR believes the same.

These violent people, this specific culture, will destroy our society as we know it. Its coming.

Just driving back from a little grocery shopping and I wanted to say to all our LEOs out there, some of us support you 100%, and we thank you for your service to and for our communities.
I would not hesitate to help out a LEO in need on the street.

Sgt. Shawn Anderson was the LEO murdered last night at the barber shop, posted on the Advocate. Just so damned wrong...

    excerpt from article:

Here are a few facts about Anderson, 43, as more details are gathered.

-- Anderson worked for Sheriff’s Office for 17-plus years.

-- During his time with EBRSO he served in various divisions including Parish Prison, Narcotics, K-9, Emergency Services Unit, Maritime Response Team and SWAT. Sgt. Anderson also served in Uniform Patrol at Burbank, Scotlandville and most recently Kleinpeter substation.

-- He served six years in the U.S. Army.

-- Anderson, publicly, is most well-known for helping to deliver a baby on the side of a road in March 2016.

-- In 2010, Anderson was given the Lifesaving Award after he and another deputy were credited with saving a woman who was threatening to jump from the Old Mississippi River Bridge on June 21. Anderson distracted the woman while Henderson grabbed her and pulled her to safety.

These thugs have absolutely NO respect for Human Life, much less for those of the people out there protecting the Majority of the population. Yet they will be the FIRST to complain of slow response times or "excessive" force and or detainment...

And folks, remember your thoughts and feelings right now during the upcoming legislative session. There will be a huge push to greatly water down our criminal laws in the name of justice "reform." Please get involved to hold your legislators to the values of your community, our LEO's are in constant danger and we need to stand behind them.
    God bless Sgt. Anderson's family.

+1 here. I just watched the video interview of Sgt. Anderson weeks after he and his partner delivered this woman's baby on the side of the road. This man, this law officer was exemplary. So freakin wrong! And that POS is in a BR hospital recovering.

Regardless of this, we need to start holding the Judges who let violent criminals off easy, out early, or show them mercy accountable. They should not be untouchable.
Its nearly daily we read stories about life long criminals and when you read through their past convictions you wonder how were they loose.

It's crazy how our justice system is set up. If they cannot get a "timely" trial, it can be thrown out. And we have so much crime, that they just try the big ones or violent ones, that the small ones get let off with a slap on the wrist, only to go back on the street and commit more crimes.

Then you have the $$$ aspect, where we cannot afford to house any more criminals. So there's that issue also.

What we need is not likely possible. It's literally going to require a culture change. Parent's taking care of their youth, living wages, resetting people's idea's on what "life" should be like. Not everyone needs new tennis shoes, large TV's and a new car every couple years. Yet, those that cannot afford it or live foolishly, end up doing shady things to get it.
