To all of those high power rifle competitors out there that were wondering if there is room for a non-distiguished shooter at next Sunday's (19 April) leg match. Fear not! There is! We have room for up to 16 non-distiguished shooters.

This is not the match to shoot your first match. But, if you've shot across the course (XTC) before, and have reasonable no-wind zeroes for your rifle, then shoot me an e-mail.

The course of fire is the National Match Course (50 shots, no sighting shots): 10 standing slow fire at 200 yards, 10 standing to sitting rapid fire at 200 yards, 10 standing to prone rapid fire at 300 yards, and 20 prone slow fire at 600 yards. It's a hoot!

As long as you have fired across the course before, if you are sporting, I can provide you with a NM AR-15 with a 200 yard zero and the standard come-ups for the other ranges. If you have not fired in one of these matches, you need to. They are a lot of fun.

Nolacop, you know the course of fire and are non-distinguished. You ought to plan to be there.

Are you guys gonna post results?

Yes we are. jdhunt3 is working on them today (he is probably re-adding his score for the 500th time to see if he can find that 1 point he was short in the leg match).:D

I keep seeing that front sight moving out of the black as the shot broke on my first standing shot. A 7! The next three shots were 10s, and then I never left the 9 or 10 ring the entire string. If only that 7 had been a freaking8, I'd gotten the 5th leg. Of course, if my Aunt had balls, she'd be my Uncle.

Tip of the day: When the front sight is moving out of the black, nothing good can come of it. If you break your shot when the front sight is moving toward the black, the shot will come up better than you think. ;)

Tip of the Century: Shooting all ten shots of a string on someone else's target is worse than a front signt moving out of the black.
