Employer information on CHP application

So, the application asks for your direct supervisor along with a contact number. Does anyone actually call your supervisor, and if so, do they tell them why they are calling? I wouldn't mind if my supervisor knew I was applying for a CHP, but the fewer people that know, the better off I am.

Anyway, I was just curious. Anyone with info care to chime in?

My boss has a CHP so I didn't worry about it. But I can see how that could be a problem for some people.

i dont have a supervisor per se, so i just put down my hr departments number.

They did not call mine. Give them my number, I'll tell them your a great guy!! Who ever you are.....jk
