A good friend of mine had a once in a lifetime experience a couple of weeks ago while hiking in the Everglades.

Nice. I'd stay close to one another when in the wild, though.

I seen one at an alligator farm in Florida. It was pretty tame. When we got near it it would purr.

My wife and I were driving in the Everglades National Park, we were coming out from deep in the Park, near dark, going slow, on a small road . A pair of young panthers crossed the road in front of us, My mind just didn't accept the fact that they weren't just some feral cats, I'm blind in one eye and have trouble with depth perception, distance and size. But my wife was adamant about their being BIG, much bigger than a house cat and they were, in fact, Florida Panthers, seeing one is something, seeing two at one time was something else!
The Park rangers told us they were immature and still with their mother, that's why they were together, probably following her and looking for a meal.
Happened so fast, there was no time for a photo...darn it !
That photo you got is awesome! Those big cats are sooo cool.

Great pics for what must have been a heart stopping moment! Glad they came out safe. Still-no way in hell I want to come face to face with one of those!
