Thanks Mickey and Rick! Had a great day and can't wait to improve on my score next month with a few things to change. Met a bunch of great guys and learned a lot. That guy in the grey jacket with the beard to the left of the guy with binoculars sure looks familiar :D

I enjoyed the match today guys, we had a good time. I brought my brother and 14 yr old son. We each shot one string so you can call us Team Williams! Lol Thanks to Rick, Mickey and Ted for putting this on. I had my brother shot the first striking, once he got used to shooting prone he started doing good. The winds were typical for Palo Alto and did give us fits at times. I didn't shoot as well as I normally did but still not bad. My son went last, he did pretty well considering the wind conditions. I took a short video of him shooting his string.

Field Precision Rifle Match at Palo Alto
    February 9, 2013, 2012
What a huge turnout for the February FPR match at Palo Alto, our first match of 2013. 24 shooters showed and posted some impressive scores despite the challenging winds of Palo that left us scratching our heads on a few shots. We had a chilly morning, but it warmed up nicely.

Mark Olivier took home the 1st place win in the FPR bag class with an outstanding score of 588-25X. Tony Arcement was on Mark’s heals with a 586-25x. Great shooting guys!

Rob Westfall took home the gold with a 1st place finish in the no bag class with a commanding 587-19x from a sling. Jim Speaks, with his trusty 6x47L, took 2nd with a 578-14x.

We had 4 F Class shooters show to shoot the match as a practice match. The race was on only separating 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place was X count. John Bishop came out on top with a 578-20x for the 1st place win. Rick Stewart, after dusting his gear, fought the wind with a .223 and posted up an impressive 578-15x for 2nd place. Chip Noel took home 3rd with a 578-6x.
Thanks to Greg Schexauder for fixing us up with the King Cake for breakfast. It sure was tasty. Excellent shooting today Greg! Today was only his third match with a stately score of 568-8X. Special thanks to Jimbo that helped us run the line and everyone that helped prep targets and put out/pick up flags. We can’t thank you all enough.
