About to head back out to the country (NE part of Clinton). Signing on a house on 3+ acres tomorrow. Looking to fence in at least 1 square acre for dogs. Not 100% on whether to go with a privacy or chain link. Any recommendations in the area?

Also looking into some type of video surveillance system. Doesn't need to be super high tech as there isn't internet service out there. Just something to keep an eye on things while I'm not around.

If you want to take the time and effort you can put in a in ground wireless fence. I enclosed about 3 acres fo my land and my dogs can roam free and after training them they do not go over the fence line. Pretty easy to do yourself to if you have a tractor and box blade.

Have thought of that. Chain link can suck to maintain and they can dig out pretty easily.

Not if you bury a foot of it. Or put a chain wall. OR do what I had done. Build a flower box out of landscape timbers against the fence line. I did 3 logs high, about a foot across. Made the wife happy and kept the dogs from digging out.

That's similar to what I have at the place I'm moving out of. Would be the best bet.

Magpie, seems like they OP would probably like something they can monitor from inside the home. I am also interested in setting up a home system. My old work gave me their old security cameras but I don't know how to set them up.

Pretty much. Not real worried about outside. At least not yet.
