FFL Transfer

Anyone know who I should go to do an FFL transfer in the NOLA / Slidell Area?
I don't want to get charged a lot of of money for this.
Would I have to pay taxes on the transaction?

What is the best way to do a cross state sale with a private seller? I want to make sure im not gonna get ripped off. How have other people done this?

they are a sponsor here. and no, you won't have to pay taxes on the gun being transferred, unless they are actually selling it to you.

You pay taxes on the cost of the transfer service but not on the value of the firearm purchased. So if the transfer cost is $25 you pay tax on $25.

I guess that may be correct (sounds plausible), however I have not ever been charged tax on the transfer and I've done a few...

Ive heard of people getting taxed on the transfer charge, but have never been charged tax on it... Usually a flat rate between 15 to 35 bucks depending where, theres a few places that charge 50....

Well I guess if it is considered a "service" technically there is no tax. Ive only done one and was not charged tax.

i have never paid taxes on ffl transfer fees. I have however seen people who charge tax for it.

S&s tactical in Slidell can do it. I believe Slidell arms also does transfers

City Pawn Shop in Baton Rouge but there is also an FFL in Gonzales that does it for that. They're a sponsor, I think it's Gene's Pawn Shop.
