Can someone tell me about the laws concerning a firearm in a vehicle. With the way things are I just feel better with it in there. But, i don't know the law. Does it have to be in the open? Can it be in the glove box or out of sight while I am driving? I've always heard about the extension of your home. Is this true?

In the good state of Louisiana you can pretty much have whatever wherever in your car (as long as it's legal to have in the first place, lol).

And yes, it is considered an extension of your home.

Someone else will probably provide more detail, but you can legally have your firearm in your car loaded or unloaded visible or out of sight, etc.

Oh, and I, for example, drive around with a .45 on my hip and an AR15 laid across the passenger seat (condition 1 w/ 2 30 rd mags coupled).
