    Hello nickatnite,

...funny :D. Good guess, but no cigar. I am a former FDNY-EMS EMT-B, (2001-2010) I have given NYC the shake & moved to Washington state. I have no need for a lot of my previous job tools & such.

With any luck...no one will be popping rounds at me in WA.

    Hello Vermiform,

I really couldn't advise stand-alone usage with these inserts. Of course they would provide protection vs. nothing at all, but these were meant to use in addition to a soft-wear kevlar vest to raise your protection level to up-caliber threats. When on the job, (FDNY-EMS) I used these in conjunction with a Type 2 kevlar vest with a carrier. A bit heavy & too hot for a CPR / cardiac arrest job! :D

    I hope this info helps.

    Be well,

    Mike
