Yeah, gears could account for part of it, along with wheel/tire height. My 2K had 3.73s.

I your speedo accurate?
Mine has 3.73s and tires right at 33", and speedo is within 3-4% of what GPS says
Unloaded is 17-18 mpg but never ran a full tank on interstate, it's somewhat mixed driving but I live in the country, no sitting in traffic. It is an 8000 pound truck. Loaded and pulling 14k I get 10 in the hills/ small mountains, 12 locally and pulling my travel trailer (around 7k) it gets 13-14. This seems to be consistent with what most people get.

GPS is 1 mph over speedo.
I could be wrong with the numbers, on the way home cpu was saying 22.8 average, short trip home stop and go traffic.

I'm planning on hitting Honey Island this Saturday.
I'll top it off before and after and give you a report.

If you go GM I'd suggest an 09 model as to avoid the DEF engines. Another farmer in the area just had $10K + in damages to his fuel system. He was still under warranty so it will be taken care of but he is gonna sell it before it goes out of warranty.

DEF came in 07.5

His is a 2010 or maybe an 11 that uses DEF

Dad just bough a new 2013 ram 3500 with DEF. our shot guy has a 2013 same truck just different color with 78,000mi and not a single problem. I know several of the dodges with no DEF problems.
Maybe just Chevy has had problems with the DEF.

You are correct my 06 is an LBZ engine. No DEF. Had fit with it on the way to Colorado last week. Kept throwing a low fuel rail sensor code.
