FREE CHP Class for students, Sat 1/16

I have two free spots in this Saturday's (1/16) CHP class in Thibodaux, for currently enrolled college students. We prefer folks who have no prior experience with firearms. You do not need a gun or ammo to attend. You will have to pay the $20 Southern Shooting Center range fee.

Ten years ago I grew weary of "preaching to the choir" so to speak, that is talking 2nd Amendment gun rights with like minded folks. I felt that was going no where. What I felt needed to be done was to reach those who are neutral, or even anti 2A. Those are our specific target groups. In our area of operation, that tends to be women and children, although the occasional male does turn up.
We have always offered women a 50% discount on the CHP class and have allowed juniors to attend for free. After meeting and training with JP of Concealed.Campus.com I dropped the price for college students 50% and got few takers. In order to move forward with the mission we now instruct college students for free. Since we only teach classes once a month, and we do not like more than 10 students per class, we can not teach everyone. That is why we favor those with no experience.
In addition, having taught nearly 1,000 folks, pistol, rifle or shotgun, folks with zero experience are often easier to teach, especially the ladies who regularly outshoot the men in the accuracy department!
