His cousin was just on Fox saying "He was a good American- he was born and raised here..." he also said he was a lifelong Muslim- not a convert.
A former co-worker said some things a little less flattering. He talked about how the guy was happy after the muslim coverts shot and killed a couple of soldiers in Arkansas. He said "maybe more of that needs to happen. Muslims need to rise up against the aggressor."

i was at roucher's meat market in plaquemine the other day and i saw a mulism with the thing on his head, long beard, gown, the works. i asked some questions and found out he is a big customer. he buys goats for his restaurant near or in new orleans. they may have thousands of mulisms right there in new orleans.

One gunman ID'd as Major Mailk Nadal Hasan.....Well, there you go. Muslim.

I called my Dad and was telling him about it. When I mentioned disbelief a US soldier could do this, he said he bet they were Arabic descent. Privately I scoffed at it but no sooner I hung up.... Mikhail Nidal Hasan.

I called him back. I try very hard to say there are good, honest, peace loving Muslim and Arabic people in this world. They're not all extreme.

Between this, and young Noor in the news this week. It's getting harder and harder for me to believe in these people and not lump them as a whole.

muslims aren't killing people. radicals are. a square is a rectangle but a rectangle isn't always a square.

I'd be willing to bet most people that commit violent crime in the US are baptized, so should we kill the Christians?

This is horrible situation and very sad. Prayers to Ft. Hood.

Although it is true that not all Muslims today are terrorists, it is a simple fact that 90% of terrorists are Muslims. In this case, being overtly politically correct will probably cost lives. Fact.

He's right. It's the same discussion we had when someone said "Germans committed mass murder"

It wasn't fair to lump all Germans and call them Nazis.

But between these so called "honor killings" you have when young girls are trying to express individuality, or "Jihad", combined with the fact that there is worldwide terrorist activity directly related to Muslim cells....

It is extremely difficult to feel comfortable. Blue collar very well educated Islamic men in well to do positions are preaching Muslim ideals that continue this perpetual loop of violence, among their own and towards Western ideals.

It's hard not to distrust that. It's human. I try very hard to accept a Muslim individual on a case by case scenario, but at the same time I wonder... really, what is their personal private opinions here?

    It's a scary time.

The officer who killed the shooter is among the dead. He gave his life, but likely saved countless lives. That is the true definition of heroism. God Bless Him.....

Sure , ignorant people do it all the time.

    Go For it.

I sure hope you are correct.
But if you think people of this religious background should not be given special attention at this point in history, you have a lot to learn. "Ignorant" or not, you cannot ignore the simple truth.

73% of serial killers were white males. Why don't we round them up and put them in concentration camps too??

I don't like what happened. I am generally weary of Muslims when around them. But I do not feel that we should round them all up and give them a collective ass whooping for what some of them do.

This goes back to the argument a lot of people have about cops. They judge the whole of them based on the actions of a few. It just isn't fair to the innocent parties that suffer the consequences.

Look at it another way. Most murderers use a weapon. Why don't we round up anyone that owns a weapon and put them in a concentration camp? Seems reasonable given the logic provided in this thread so far.

Muslims killed people, and threatened death on others, over CARTOONS.

If you draw cartoons about the pope, or Mary, or Jesus, or God, or Buddha, or Shiva, or Ganesh, or Lucifer, or L. Ron Hubbard, or "the great spirit which moves through all things" or any number of other religious figures, no one freaking cares. You draw Muhammed with a bomb on his head, and people get killed.
