I used to cache but I got tired of finding nothing but nanos in trees especially when the area could easily house a larger cache container. My new obsession is Munzee. www.munzee.com
But for a couple of years I enjoyed caching. Just grew tired of it. I still have two caches out there that get logged every couple of months.
Geo caching sounds fun. I haven't heard of it until today (apparently I'm a muggle). Its unfortunate cachers have moved toward micro or nano caches, I was really interested in giving it a shot until I read that most caches out there are nano caches with pieces of paper close to parking lots so people can increase their total cache finds more easily. In its original version, it sounded like a fun thing to do. Any way to differentiate micro/nano caches from the real deal? If so, I would be interested in giving it a shot.
I've done a few when traveling to different states. I have had some stupid ones and some that where pretty hard to find which made it fun. I don't really care what I am looking for, but how challenging it is.
I'm a geocacher! I recently got the wife interested in it and we go once a month or so. I get tired of the random nano's so I've been building and hiding bigger and more stealthy hides in the Brusly / Addis area closer to our home. Biggest issue is people keep stealing them.
Its a good way to learn your GPS but there are some nifty apps for your smartphones that work pretty well... its what we use now.
