    here
There was a pretty good review on YouTube regarding it. This guy was cutting through everything and then tested the built in sharpener. I don't have time to look up the video but should be easy to find. It appeared to be a decent blade and did what it was designed to do.

There are a few knives that he uses I thought he had a custom maker "signature" knife that was worth close to $400 perhaps more but I didnt know gerber made his own line

yeah, research it a little more. in the first run of them you are right. essentially a beta version. in late january they redesigned it and the new ones are on the shelves now. thats why there are now sold at walmart, and target. because they are actually in production.

right before christmas i found three at academy and sold em on eBay for 180 a piece lol, and they are the ones that have probably already fallen apart.

im happy with it, diamond sharpener on the sheath, and flint starter in the sheath, that locks in waterproof. and a pommel on the butt of the knife for tent stakes and the like.

but dont get me wrong, if i need a fixed blade that i can trust, i'll grab the ka-bar or my ESEE everytime

IIRC they used to make the blade out of 154CM... now it looks like it's made out of 420HC. I don't know what the BG model is made of... probably something cheap also.
