The Parkland shooter bought his weapon from Dick's. After the shooting, the founder's son, Ed Stack, fell victim to the 'hurt feelings' crowd and decided his stores would no longer carry weapons. He also destroyed his inventory of AR style weapons and stuck numerous vendors with ammo stock that he had ordered but decided not accept or pay for. His company lost over $300 million with these 'feel good' decisions. Dick's stock took a nose dive. Sometime later, Ed stepped down as head of the company and they hired a liberal woman to run the company. She further cemented Dick's anti-gun legacy. Because of their stance, the hunting and fishing part of their business had tanked big time. They have relied on all other departments to keep them going and many liberal anti-gun pundits and pushed people to buy from DIck's for sporting goods needs. I bought a golf club from them before all this happened but will never give them another dime.

There is really no reason to go into the one by Mall of Louisiana. They don't even sell fishing supplies anymore. I say Dick would be turning over in his grave knowing the store has lost its true values and has turned to an apparel store that lady's buy clothes from.

    But they didn't go under...
Far from it. I have never been in a Dick's store nor made a purchase there, but their stock was trading around $40/45 per share prior to covid. Now trading at $130 per share. Somebody likes Dick's, turning a profit every quarter too. Not like the now dead Sears, or BBBY. AMC is on the rocks too. Regal Theaters in bankruptcy. Norwegian and Carnival Cruise Lines dug deep holes (sold millions of new shares for cash flow during covid), still not turning a profit yet.

Didn’t Dicks start closing stores about the time there stock price went up (also covid stimulus).
    Now back to Didney
