I have been thinking about getting one of the Glocks with the Longer barrels. I don't have any present reason to get one.

I would love to hear from people who have either of these on why they choose one over the other and what they like or dislike about the model.

    Is there a particular reason?

I have torn up shoulders and the longer barrel makes the 17L slower/harder to draw and I saw no advantage to shooting the G17L which I think is slower back on target.
Longer sight radius on the G17L may help some with slow bullseye shooting but a G26 will be quicker on target. I have owned most 9mm and .40 Glocks and several in .45 caliber.
The best 5 shot group fired from any of my Glocks was 1.16" at 25 yards with a Gen 4 G17. The person shooting also shot a 5 shot group of 1.61" with my Gen 3 G34.
The above groups were shot from a rest.
The best I ever shot at 25 yards was with a Glock 34 10 years ago when I could occasionally shoot 17 rounds in a 4" group which has grown much larger with more injuries.
