i have a gen 2 glock 19 and i have had two opportunities to trade it one for a gen 4 glock 23 and the other a gen 3 glock 22. just was wondeirng if there was a reason i have had the offers to trade it. is there something wrong with the .40 caliber or just a strange occurance. i was thinking about trading for the glock 23 but the two offers to trade for a .40 caliber have made me skeptical.

Why do you want a. 40? Me and my buddy were comparison shooting at a fire extinguisher. My 9 and his 40. The damage was the same if not better(not by much if any) with 9. Not to mention 9mm ammo is cheaper.

I had a g19 but traded it for a g26 to cc with.

Funny I had a G26, and traded for a G19... Love it Josh.

Haha, man stick with 9mm in Glock.. If I recall correctly, and guys with the knowledge, correct me if I'm wrong, but the Glock semi auto platform was built off of the 9x19 parabellum cartridge?

I had the G23 in .40, loved it, I have the G19. Love it, more. 15+1 of 9mm vs 13+1 of .40 is a bonus as well

Correct. The 40 didn't come until 1990(I think), and glocks were around in the 80's.

I've seen it written that the Glock 40's are a bit snappier than some other makers with the same ammo. You may want to keep that in mind if you're considering a caliber change on a trade.

I personally have no experience with 40 in the Glock platform, but test fire the trade offers before agreeing if you can.

    Drop in barrel=unreliable

Over 2k rounds though my drop barrels with not one issue. Ever.

I'll keep my 40s with drop barrels. On the plus side, I run into far more .40 ammo on the shelf than 9mm these days.

    Keep your Glock 19 & buy the 23 / 22, if that's possible! :)

That's just my opinion, anyway. I like having access to any of The Big Three at any given moment.

My model 27 with a 9mm lone wolf conversion barrel has ran many , many rounds thru both tubes with no problems. 9mm less recoil, cheaper ammo... 40 caliber kick ass but more expensive per bang. Overall, I'd keep the 19 though. JMO

I know people with tens of thousands of rounds through their drop in barrels... Quite reliably.

I have... Over 6 drop in barrels between sizes, threaded, not threaded barrels.

ONE (357sig barrel in a G27) has not been reliable (some HP's don't feed well, and I haven't fixed it yet.)

Regardless I'd do what a buddy does... He runs 9 in his 27 for training, and then carries the .40

Personally, I wouldn't do it. I have no interest in .40 or .357sig. A 9mm Glock is fine by me.

I refuse to own anything made by Lone Wolf. The only threaded Glock barrels I have are made by Glock.

Because G19's are invincible and go up in value. If you want to sell yours make sure you don't clean it, run over it with you're truck a few times, dip it in dog chit and it should be worth about $1500.

I had no use for .40 till one of the 'panics' a few years back... buddy could only find a .40 glock... you COULD NOT find ammo, and I had NO AMMO for a .40
So when it came back i bought 2 boxes.

Later found a .40 Glock for stupid prices... (opposite type from now)

I found a 3rd gen Glock 32 (357 SIG G19 size) with night sites in a pawn shop for... I forget what... but it was well under $350.
I've got $510 in it with 9mm and 40 barrels.

I didn't originally set out that way, but....
