I carry my gen 3 glock 27 every day on and off duty. Nylon ankle holster at work, leather IWB off work for the past 7 ish years. The finish is starting to wear and lighten and I was wondering if I should be worried about any kind of issues with it such as rusting.

The guns I've had that had edge wear from holsters etc never seem to rust in those spots. (my experience) When I've had a deep scratch that wasn't wear it seems to rust. I don't know if it's a polishing action or something but just what I've found.

I would just monitor it and wouldn't worry about it. You can always have it coated if it bothers you.

    Baton Rouge... Mostly
They had a recall when the EPA made them switch processes IIRC.

outisde of that the tinifer (or however you spell it) is impregnated and wear will have NO impact rust wise.

I have one Glock... Don't know if this guy had a holster lined with sandpaper or what, but there is NO finish on parts of the slide.
    Still won't rust.
