Glock also sells a standard Glock plastic shipping box with a matching keyed lock installed on the box itself. I’ve got one around here somewhere and if I can locate it I’ll post a picture.

That lock is about as useful as the thumb safety on the S&W Shield I used to own. What was Gaston thinking when he said, "Oh I know, let's put a lock with a key on our pistol".

I saw this thread about 10 minutes before you posted on lunch break. I really dont want to demolish the gun removing it. If i have time i might mill it out but time is precious lately

It was requested by a law enforcement agency if I remember correctly
Wouldn't doubt it. NOPD had their Glock 22 come with NY triggers installed. Talk about a mess. Some have enough trouble qualifying as it is, put a 12 pound trigger and see what happens. Supposed to be for safety purposes to prevent negligent discharges. You can't install a device to replace good training discipline like "Don't put your finger on the trigger until ready to fire".

If you don't care for it, just fill that area in with some black rubber (plastic) in a tube. Sand it smooth after it dries. Forget it was even there and don't worry about it, unless you plan to sell it down the road.
