Glock Trigger Reset Issue

Hey, if there are any Glock experts here, I could use some advice regarding my G30 SF. My carry gun.

It's clean and everything seems to be moving freely. All of a sudden, when cycling the gun, it no longer reliably resets the trigger. Cycle it slowly, it resets as expected. Cycle it fast and it won't.

The gun is stock. Carried more (daily) than shot, maybe a couple of thousand rounds through it total.

I thought maybe the trigger return spring might be worn, but I just replaced it with a new factory spring and it made no difference.



Any other ideas?

Im gonna go with you installed the spring upside down in the trigger housing (not in the S configuration) and its slipped off. Take it apart again and make sure the spring is installed in an "S" config looking at it from the right side.

It’s not the trigger spring. It is new and installed correctly, as stated in my original post.

It can be the firing pin tube inside the slide it is not to be oiled and needs to be assembled dry. The tube is polymer and can wear from the firing pin cups that hold the firing pin spring. You can call me if you need more info just dm me for my number if you like.

Are you trying to refer to the firing pin spacer sleeve or the channel liner ?

Well actually by your own words it is... but intermittently.

He's speaking of the requisite 2/3's cruciform to striker engagement that an armorer looks for.

Maybe you shouldn't have disassembled it past the operator level, since reassembly seems challenging to you.

The connector should not be flat against the housing. Lots of folks bend them straight because it doesn’t look right.

It’s the channel liner they make one in stainless steel that helps. I just replaced on for a friend who was have similar issues and it fixed the problem

The channel liner is a non wearable part, the only reason it should be changed is if it falls out on its own, which is extremely uncommon. The most common reason is heating from Cerakote makes it loose it and falls out.

A stainless liner is just a novelty and not needed.

This is the engagement on my ancient Glock 27. It’s on RSA 3 so it has about 10k through it. It was shot often and carried daily from 1999 until probably 2012. It now lives in a corner of my safe.

With the exception of sights and the rsa, this pistol is the same as it left the factory in the 90’s.

OP, the second pic above shows the proper config of the trigger spring. Compare it to yours.

I do not have an armorer’s back plate, so I can’t duplicate that one particular picture if yours, but here are a few others of my pistol. Do you see anything wrong?
