Hey guys, well the wife shot my savage 10 and now wants her own. well i think im going to just let her use it until i build my own:D. she can handle the kick but i was thinking of making it a tad better for her by getting the barrel threaded and putting a brake on. Which ones are good for 308. obviously badger has a good one, holland, and vais. anybody have some specific input? thanks

Actually, Badger has more than one. The FTE brake is great, and has obvious pluses (removable), but the Badger Tactical Thruster brake is an awesome brake as well. I had one on a .30-06 and could free recoil the rifle.

Also I'm loving the APA fat bastard and if the little bastard is anything like it's big brother then it will perform well too.

    Breaks

Jeremy threads the barrel and contours the break to the barrel nothing big and bulky or ugly and they work excellent. I have one a 300 mag and reduced the recoil and the noise alot. Would recommend his work and craftmanship to anyone..

Anything to help out a fellow sportsman and gun enthusiest. My dad says it is not nearly as loud it sounds like it is muffled some. I can say the recoil reduction was awesome. I have brought several guns to him and always get a quality job. He does awesome with stainless guns as well.

This may not be the best brake for just recoil or just muzzle flip, but it does both VERY well, and hides the flash better than your average "birdcage" flash hider.
I have one on a dpms .308 and the recoil is less than an ak47!
