The Garmin Rino 530hcx has been the best out of 5 units I have experience with. The hcx stands for high sensitivity.. I couldn't praise this unit enough. Garmin also haves
    different models with the h c x ..

We use Delorme for geocaching. Sometime after I get locked onto the satts I can stay locked even when I am in the house.
I have a pn-20 now but will be upgrading to the pn-60 pretty soon.

Garmin 60CSX hands down. Have traveled with it all over the world in the harshest conditions. Additionally, Martin Strel, who swam the entire Amazon River (over 3,000 miles) used this model exclusively.

    Great unit, great reception.

I've had trouble with a Garmin Oregon Model 450T purchased new getting accuracies better than 300-500 feet when locating waypoints. Anyone have any ideas?

see if the option for WAAP is turned on..

I use garmin 60cs models.. and have taken them into the thickest stuff we have here and to many national forests and have had great luck with them..

The only time I cant get a signal is sometimes in the heaviest snowfalls.. way up north. but I should not be trying to navigate in that crap anyway..
